FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE "RADAR" and "T.C. Ford's DOMAIN" are two new magazine/anthology projects scheduled for late 2004...'Magazines in a paperback format' under developmentUnited Comics is planning two black and white 'GRAPHIC STORY' magazines for later in the year. One project, called T.C. Ford's DOMAIN, will be printed in what is considered a traditonal magazine size, while the second project known as RADAR will debut in "WALKABOUT" format, the manga paperback size (5 1/4" x 8 1/4") adopted by such publishers as Tokyopop, CrossGen and Gladstone. "We enjoyed CrossGen Comics' recently cancelled FORGE and VECTOR compendia format, and decided to go forward and see what we could do in that size", said T.C. Ford - UNITED COMICS Publisher, "Actually, we did consider both magazine projects for the format, but I also wanted to put out a Warren style magazine. We'll see which format does better." Both RADAR and T.C. Ford's DOMAIN will feature a combination of brand-new and previously published material, with DOMAIN focusing on material either written and/or pencilled/inked by Publisher Ford. "There are readers new to comics who don't realize that comics are still largely a collaborative process", said Ford, "DOMAIN will hopefully show them that while a creator can write and draw his own stories, sometimes working with other talented individuals can be inspiring." Price, frequency and material are currently being discussed, but both projects are expected to debut with previews in time for 2004's convention season. Depending on the success of these projects, United plans to expand its line with two Original Graphic Novels being developed, and two regular ongoing comics (in addition to the upcoming Shockwave and Onyx Comics titles) into 2005.
