  Take a look at What's New in our web. Updated regularly, as information is provided. KARAOKE (ka-ra-oh-kay, not ka-ro-kee) is a Japanese word for "Invisible Orchestra". It is a WORLDWIDE communal phenomenon, which brings together people of all ages, sexes, races and nationalities. It doesn't even matter if you can carry a tune...it's a fun way to entertain (or be entertained) for a few hours. READ THIS PLEASE!...Based on the amount of hits we receive at this site DAILY, we know it's a hit statewide. Please know that this site is a labor of love (we haven't made a DIME off this site since we started it...paid memberships have gone to pay for hosting, with some monies put aside for the eventual publication of CTKARAOKE.COM the magazine). Having said that, we have been getting complaints that there are shows in CT not listed, or cancelled but not updated on the site. They're right. Why? 1.) We're not all-knowing. If you know of a show or a cancellation, let US know so we can post it (or delete it, if necessary). 2.) Some KJs choose NOT to have their shows listed here, out of fear that the "fly-by-nights" (those cheap-priced guys with a karaoke machine, a smattering of songs and a dream, but no discernible DJ/KJ SKILLS or EXPERIENCE) will use our site as a way to steal bar shows they might otherwise not have known of. I don't agree, because I feel that show quality will win the day, not how cheap the KJ costs. Ask any bar who made that change, and noticed that the crowd left with the KJ. 3. We are a two-person staff (say "HI" to DJ Scully!) doing this in between paying gigs and having a life. It may take a few days to update the site, it's not an automatic process. Please be patient. If you don't see any change in a week or two, remind us (sometimes the notice of update gets misplaced, or we didn't get your email for some reason). CTKARAOKE magazine is coming in 2009. *Listings of shows around the state. *Directory of active CTKaraoke KJ members. *Possible inside looks at show venues. I don't know how many pages, it will be FREE (advertiser supported) and FULL-COLOR (meaning the pictures will be too!). As of right now the frequency is quarterly, but if we get enough ad revenue I wouldn't say bi-monthly or even monthly would be out of the question for future issues. We will be looking for people to comprise a Street Team to help us get these copies out there. No money is involved, but you'll get your name listed in every issue you are involved in producing. We're doing a complete redo of CTKaraoke.com (beginning in JANUARY, sections of it over time), and the magazine is the beginning of all this. It will be produced by Obsidian Publishing (which also produces United Comics). We have gotten several inquiries as to advertising information, and you can find that information HERE! JOIN US!
